summer

SUMMER 2008

So I decided to start a blog so that our friends and family could see what going on in our lives and we could share the fun and some pictures. Since we moved to Utah I feel we are out of the loop. Trying to get our lives adjusted to living away from family and trying to make new friends and keep sane. Can you believe it has almost been a year!! It has gone by soooo fast. I still feel I am not adjusted. It has been a real sacrifice to pick up and move (mostly for the kids). Burdette loves his job so it makes it all worth it.

So this was our first summer here and we tried to keep busy with lots of fun things. We did swimming lessons. First public lessons and then did private (which was so much better). The kids really excelled. They still have one more session to go through. Boston played T-ball. That was so much fun to watch. We went to the Stadium of fire on the Fourth of July. Mekenna, Ashley, and Lauren were so excited because Miley Cyrus was performing. It was a lot of fun. This is the kids after the show. We just hung out for a while after in the parking lot to let the crowd thin out. We also did some fishing this summer, went to the park and did a lot of bike riding. (although it has been really hot so we go late in the evening). Oh, and of course a ton of parades. Every town here has their own town days, which includes a parade. After about four we were done for the year.

Summer is winding down. Right now we are trying to ready for school to start. It starts Monday. The kids found out today who there teachers are. Mekenna and Ashley Got who they wanted and Boston doesn't really care. I got what I wanted because they are on first track instead of second like last year. The difference is starting school at 8:15 for first track instead of 9:30 on second. Thus getting out a little earlier. Mekenna is in 6th grade. Ashley is in 4th, and Boston is in 1st. Lauren is just going to hang out with me. Coming with me to volunteer at the school and probably lots of books, dolls and dress up. Maybe even a dance class. She is at a really fun stage. Loves to sing, dance and just be a cutie. She's almost three in October. Although she tells me she already is.

They seem to being growing faster and faster every day. Along with that comes Burdette and I slowly turning into our parents. Each day something else comes out of my mouth that I swore I would never say to "MY KIDS" when I became a mom. Well that didn't last. Oh well, I guess it was bound to happen one day!!
